Panic in Chocoland
An early flash game built for licensing out to 3rd party sites. The game was based loosely around office favourite Bombjack and is still insanely playable. We put this on a PC running flash in a browser - and put that inside an arcade machine at MELIA in Cannes where people actually queued up to play it. Industry people who were looking for web content asked us (with completely straight faces) if it would be possible to build such a game in Flash.
Now it may be starting to look long in the tooth but if you cast your mind back to what flash games looked like back in 2000 you’ll realise why it’s still on the list of our favourite bits of work. And bear in mind that it’s still better than half the crap some of our competitors turn out under the banner of “Flash gaming” today.
